SharePoint Foundation 2013 Installation Problems

I finally installed SharePoint Foundation 2013 Preview. I preferred standalone installation, but I got some errors during installation (Products Configuration Wizard). I don’t know if these errors occur in farm installation.I found a solution on Microsoft support forums. Here is the link of that forum post.

Before the errors I want to post my first screenshots of my first SharePoint 2013 installation 🙂

The first error is on Step 3 of Products Configuration Wizard. You can find the error message and the screenshot of the error below.

Failed to connect to the configuration database.
An exception of type System.Management.Automation.CmdletInvocationException was thrown. Additional exception information: ErrorCode<NonDomainNWService>:SubStatus<ES0001>:Service running under Network Service account in workgroup environment is not supported.

The solution is creating config db by the following command.

[stextbox id=”grey”]psconfig.exe -cmd Configdb create SkipRegisterAsDistributedCacheHost[/stextbox]

After creating the config db by this command, I rerun the Configuration Wizard. The second error occured in Step 8.

Neil Sly explianed the reason of this problem in the related forum post. This issue is caused while creating search service. At this point you can open Central Admin and try to fix the error in the search service application.

Nice digging..
